Is Netflix.com Available in Your Area?
Just earlier this year Netflix.com launched a massive campaign to bring it’s streaming services to an additional 130 countries around the world, Making Netflix available in over 190 countries globally! As of January 2016, Netflix has become available globally, with the exception of the following 4 countries.
China: While Netflix.com’s goal is to eventually provide their services to China, Netflix and the Chinese government cannot see eye to eye on how content will be delivered (read: selectively censored).
North Korea, Syria & Crimea: Current U.S. government restrictions prevent Netflix from doing any business with these countries.

While Netflix’s streaming services may be available to nearly everyone now, It’s important to note that not all media will be available to every country, presumably due to language barriers and a lack of translated closed captions into less common languages. (So just a heads up you may not be able to watch the latest season of Orange is the New Black in Hong Kong)
How many Subscribers does Netflix Have?
As of December 2015, Netflix has more than 75 million active subscribers worldwide and a reported annual revenue of nearly 7 Billion dollars in 2015. While their subscriber numbers are expected to continue to grow as they continue their global expansion campaign, DVD subscribers continue to dwindle year after year. In 2014 there were 6.3 million DVD subscribers, which accounted for approximately 12.6% of their total subscribers. Compare that to 2016s numbers of 4.75 million active DVD subscriptions, or approximately 6% of their total subscriptions.
What Platforms Does Netflix Support?
Netflix is available on the Android and iOS platforms, Roku, Smart TV’s, DVR’s and a variety of Game consoles. Netflix can also be run on nearly all modern browsers (Chrome, FireFox, Safari, Opera, etc) and on a growing list of different hardware. A more apt question might be – What platforms won’t run Netflix?
Check out the complete list of working hardware on the Netflix Wiki page.
